The Zen of Joe Montana

It' s Super Bowl week. And I was thinking about a Super Bowl I saw in Miami many years ago. It was the 49ers vs. the Bengals.
The Bengals were winning with very little time left. Joe Montana began an amazing last minute drive that ended in a 49ers win. Some people call it the most amazing drive in Super Bowl history. Joe Montana, the quarterback was asked how he was able to concentrate when he had a minute left and 80 yards to cover. And he said that he never thought about the 80 yards, he just thought of the next play and the next ten yards. Those words have stuck with me forever. Concentrate on the now. Don't look at the long road ahead. Just think about this right now. And make the best play possible.
