I've been watching a few movies featuring Pier Angeli, an actress who is relatively unknown today. She was a contract actress with MGM during the 1950's and 1960's. An Italian actress, she was the exact opposite of the typical huge, voluptuous, strong Italian women such as Sophia Loren. In fact, she was kind of waif-like and seemed kind of shy. But she was so beautiful and it's a pleasure to see her in movies.
She led a very sad and tragic life. And she died at age 39, of a barbiturate overdose.
