The Notorious Betty Page

I saw "The Notorious Bettie Page" on DVD. It tells the story of the pinup queen of the 1950's. It deals with all the hypocrisy of the sexual mores of the day. And it is interesting to see how the U.S. was like in pre-Playboy era.

Gretchen Mol is amazing as Bettie. She delivers an Oscar worthy performance. The movie is not really groundbreaking, but it is entertaining.

The DVD also features a documentary on the real Bettie Page and a short film of that era. It could be rated PG-13 today.

I hope it does something for Gretchen Mol's career, remember a few years ago when she was on the cover of Vanity Fair y después no pasó nada, so I hope this brings her some nominations or awards or something.
