Cool movie
"This is my happening and it freaks me out!!!!"
Zman
This is a really interesting flick. A cult movie per excellence. The year was 1970. 20th Century Fox, desperate for a low budget hit, decided to hire Russ Meyer, an acclaimed director known for skin flicks featuring women with huge breasts to make a sequel to "Valley of the Dolls". He, in turn, hired as the screenwriter an unknown film critic from Chicago named Roger Ebert. Together they created one of the craziest, funniest, most insane movies ever. A movie about a girl group who makes it big in Hollywood, but pays the price.
The movie features drugs, alcohol, sex, Nazis, nymphomaniacs, mass murderers, cheesy "hippy" dialogue, women with big breasts, groovy 1960's rock music. Everything that can make a movie fun. And this movie is fun. It was hailed as one of the 100 best movies ever by Village Voice and as one of the best film of the 1960's by Newsweek.
The DVD is full of extras and features an audio commentary by Roger Ebert who does not consider this a skeleton in his classic but sees it as a fun time.
Check it out. I found it at Borders.

Ahhh quiero verla! Is it in any way related to the original Valley of the Dolls movie?
Actually the author of the original was offended by the movie and there's a silly disclaimer saying that this movie has nothing to do with the original. Which is true since it is much better.
Any movie featuring hippy dialogue, big-breasted women and Nazis is automatically awesome, just on principle. I should see this. XD
My kind of flick...seen it and love...to me it goes along with classics such as Rosemary's Baby and Stepford Wives(the original one of course) (Both movies dark but classics). Gracias por la visita! On watching VH1 Classic seria demasiado "back trip" pa' mi...yo soy de esa generacion y me pone a revivir todos esos momentos. Te me cuidas!
